Silencing the Noise

In the whirlwind of daily responsibilities, it's easy to get entangled in a web of destructive thinking patterns. Self-reflection acts as a calming balm, allowing one to silence the noise of negative self-talk and self-doubt.

By Self-reflection, we mean to introspectively examine these destructive thoughts, pause them and observe them, really check them out, face the monster in the eye. What are they about, can the issue be resolved or it seems impossible? what are the feelings that are introduced there, are they feelings long forgotten or active now in your life? can you control your breathing and calm down or is that impossible? should you look for help from a professional or can you manage them with efective breathing exercises? what is the effect of this kind of thinking, in your life?

Through a pause in the unstoppable line of thoughts, through an active observation of the context of our thinking, the feelings and reactions that we have, the intensity of the repetition, etc, one can have a reality check on what is really bringing one down, and then choose an appropriate step forward and out of the pattern. Any individual can learn to navigate their thoughts and emotions and reframe their perspective in order to find the path to a more positive outlook on life. It is important, emotional navigation, in a professional as well as in a personal setting, since understanding and managing emotions can lead to better teamwork, conflict resolution, and overall workplace satisfaction.

TIP: When you find yourself in excessive thinking, 1) observe your breathing, and bring your breathing consciously back to your belly, feeling and seeing your belly expanding as you inhale and contracting as you exhale. It is Very Important to breath in your belly and not with your chest for example. 2) Then check your feet, that are both soles of the feet firm on the ground. If your are lying down then bend your knees and put the soles of your feet on the ground. GROUND yourself. Over thinking is an overstimulation of energy on the head, with very little grounding, so GROUND YOURSELF! BE PRESENT HERE NOW.

TIP: An excellent exercise to calm down an agitated mind, is to recapitulate your day before you go to bed at night. Start from the last incident before you went to bed and move backwards to the moment you woke up in the morning. See feel hear taste all that has happened, re-evaluate situations, forgive and ask to be forgiven, and then go to bed.

TIP: Start a journal. Where you can note down the important, the frustrating, the silly, your dreams, your emotions, your thoughts. Writing is a great channel for expressing one's thoughts, and grounding the inner chaos. From Chaos comes Creativity, remember, embrace! do not fight your Self!

Navigating Emotions by Confronting them

Self-reflection offers a safe space for each one to confront their buried and suppressed emotions. Guilt, shame and fear are basic reasons for emotional suppression and avoidance. By delving deep into the roots of these sentiments, individuals can connect with them, process the now conscious information and release what is no more needed, paving the way for emotional wound healing and thus growth.

Acknowledging these emotions through self-reflection is the first step towards fostering emotional resilience and well-being. Because you then open the path for your personal unspoken truths to come out and be expressed uncensored, and then is when true healing happens, when we go back to our truth and integrity. Guilt, shame and fear are the obvious obstacles keeping one away from their truths, personal truths that need to come out in the open, to be cleansed, to be cared for, to be healed.

Guilt, shame and fear that come from trauma, are qualities also deeply rooted in our society and are the basic means through which we manipulate ourselves and others. By confronting these, and thus the trauma, you are then able to see what lies behind, most of the times extraordinary qualities, unseen and untold, that can help the person's evolution and expansion.

By confronting guilt, shame and fear in your life, you open the road for emotional freedom and a whole new way of experiencing yourself and the world around you, allowing you to heal your communication and relationships, advance in your life path, and level up the overall quality of life for you and those around you. You return to Integrity, Self Love and Self Worth.

Then you can put your feet firm on the ground and speak your heart's mind at the moment you need to, with no guilt, fear or shame. Then you do not need to overthink, because You are present in Your Truth Always.

TIP: So, really the TIP here, is Get into Therapy, find a professional you feel you can trust working with them, and get their support. Fear Guilt and Shame are painful and strong blockages, as they come from traumas, and it is better to move down that road with guidance 🐉☯💜🏆

A steady meditation practice and breathing exercises are also invaluable tools in this path of liberating this mental-emotional-spiritual programming.

Setting Boundaries ~ The Art of Healthy Limits

Self-reflection serves as a compass for navigating interpersonal dynamics and setting healthy boundaries. By understanding your needs, values, and limitations, you can assertively communicate and establish boundaries that safeguard your well-being. Creating these healthy limits, fosters a sense of self-respect, self-trust, and inner balance for you, which is then further expressed in your relationships, promoting equally respect trust and balance and thus ensuring mutual growth and harmony.

It is important to know that in order to place healthy boundaries in your life, the point of reference should be your well being that is your physical-emotional-mental-spiritual well being. THE POINT OF REFERENCE IS YOU! There is no way to place effective personal boundaries if you go for pleasing everybody, or if you do it out of fear, shame or guilt (even though these boundaries might serve for some time but not in the long term). Real boundaries are like the walls of our house, they are there steady and non negociable, people have to knock on the door and We decide who comes in or not. That way you can built your boundaries. Your safe space, where you decide who enters and who does not. And in order to do that you need to cultivate self respect, self love and know your worth!

TIP: 1) Sit comfortably on the floor or a chair, ground yourself, breath deeply in the belly. Align yourself to the moment here now. Put yourself in a circle of protection, stating your Space around you. 2) Bring in your mind the first person that you feel that oversteps your boundaries. Make the situation clear, how they do it, when they do it, what are the triggers, what are your emotional reactions, what are their emotional reaction, do they make eye contact with you, is it with words with emotions with their bodily movements that you observe them overstepping you? when do you actually realise that it has happened? do you see it from the beginning happening and you ignore it or you do not realise it until you have lost yourself? Examine, question, observe, all the facts, each step, bring clarity to the whole scenario. 3) You are still in your circle, in your Space. you bring them in the room where you are, you imagine their presence, their face their clothes their posture, everything. Check in the space where they stand in your vision, are they too close or too far, how do you feel? move them to another spot in the room, check there how you feel, is it too close/too far, and move them around until you have a good feeling how you feel with them in the different proximities, how your breathing changes, how your eye contact changes, how your body posture changes. Every time, observe and acknowledge your breathing or posture or emotional and mental reactions, and bring yourself back to alignment by breathing deeply in your belly. Then you move them to the next space in the room and so on.

3) You can always express your feeling towards them during the process, and your feelings towards yourself. When truth comes out then healing starts!

Through this process you will start being aware and conscious of each step on the way of loosing your space and boundaries, you will become conscious of the dynamics at play, yours and the other persons, you will bring light at those hidden unconscious patterns, feelings and thoughts, in order to transform them eventually. Most of all, you will get to know your truth regarding your need for space and your appropriate proximity emotionally-mentally-physically from people and situations. When you know where you stand, you can plan where you want to go from there!

4) Do that with your boss, your family or anyone that you feel that oversteps your boundaries.

5) This exercise will move a lot of energy and will bring deep transformation, so be prepared for a deep emotional release and deep profound personal work. it can be overwhelming, so remember to ground yourself, drink a lot of water, smudge your space afterwards, and always Always ask for guidance if you feel uncertain you can hold and manage the intensity of the emotional release.
