Rei-ki is a natural healing system, hands on healng as it is also called, and is perhaps thousands of years old. It is believed that this technique was used by Buddhist monks in Tibet and was brought back around 1800 through Mikao Usui. Usui's Reiki system is a very simple and dynamic technique that is given and easily taken by everyone.

Reiki is made of two Japanese words. Rei which means "Higher Power", "Divine" and "Universal" and Ki which is "life force energy". So Reiki in full means "Divine universal life force energy."
Reiki is a "more general" word in Japan. It is used to describe various healing methods based on the Universal Vital Energy Force – it has the same meaning basically as the Chinese "Chi" and the Sanskrit "Prana". It is not exclusive to treatments based on Usui's method. Reiki is non-religious and can be taken by people of any religion or faith. It is usually given through the touch of the hands – palm/fingers, and can be given by the feet, hands – arms and elbows, and forehead, so that people with physical disabilities/difficulties are not excluded.​
Toxins are purified at all levels, and the entire energy system is retuned realigned and balanced. In case of a long period of system imbalance, several sessions are needed to achieve stable recovery.
For someone close to death, Reiki will offer relief, provide peace, dignity, and help with pain. S/he will release grief, helping to accept the inevitable. Through Reiki we learn to understand human fears, for there is no greater moment for the truth of Reiki's help than this. ​

Seichem initiations/attunements create a larger channel in the centre of the crown, which connects the student with the Reiki energy. From the experience of many people, the channel is larger and more dynamic than that of the traditional Reiki initiations. This gives the opportunity for more dynamic therapeutic sessions.

Tera-Mai is the registered trademark of Kathleen Milner – USA, author of Reiki & Other Rays of Touch Healing. Initially she was taught the traditional Reiki and Seichem. She later had experiences of elevated consciousness and was given by the Spirit new attunements/initiations practices as well as symbols for Reiki and Seichem. These coordinate us with the strong vibrations of our time. The Tera - Mai™ therapeutic system offers specific initiations by which it connects the student with the healing rays for personal healing and development.
The Seichem initiations attune the student with Reiki (Earth element), Sakara (Fire element), Sophi-el (Water element), and Angelic Light (Air element).

Seichem energy healing sessions are very powerful and many times a thirty-minute session is enough.

The Seichem energy will attract you, will call you, as long as it is on your personal path. It doesn't seem to matter if you're just starting your acquaintance with Reiki or if you're a traditional Reiki therapist.
Beside the attunements to Reiki, Sakara, Sophi-El & Angelic Light, the following attunements are given as part of the Reiki - Seichem teaching, even though they are not part of the actual Reiki training and energy.
The Violet Flame Attunement: It is usually given at the first levels and helps in personal release from negative patterns/emotions.
YOD initiation: elevates intuitive, psychic abilities and connects the student with the Egyptian teachers of Light. It is given after the 2nd level.
Initiation In The Order Of Melchizedek: Aligns the disciple with the Higher Beings working to fulfill the Earth's Higher Plan. It is given after the 2nd level.

What to expect during and after a Reiki session
For a live Reiki session we will need an hour and a half, whereas for a distant Reiki session an hour is enough!
During the live Reiki session you will be comfortably lying in a mattress, wearing comfortable clothes, we will have relaxing Reiki music on and incense burning! A beautiful atmosphere for you to take in all the energy you need exactly where you need it, in order to nourish you in all levels that you are in need. You will calm your thoughts, breath deeply and even sleep if this is where Reiki takes you in order for the healing to happen (you might of course cry, burb and even fart :) be ready for energy release!). I will place my hands gently on you, on your body or your aura if touching makes you feel uncomfortable, and will move to all the different Reiki positions starting from the head, through all the chakras, back, and feet for grounding. If there is a special condition we will work more on that as well. To complete the session i will clean up all the energies that have come to the surface and you will be as good as new, shinning inside and outside!
After the session you will be in a profound peace and calmness, centred and relaxed, chakras in harmony and balance, will drink plenty of water for that day and the following 2 days. You should observe your dreams and the change that will be manifested in your life!
If you are having the Reiki session in parallel to medical treatment, Reiki will help you respond better to you medication and will improve your overall well being. It is extremely helpful in parallel with cancer treatment, for any health issue actually, as well as if you are pregnant or after you have given birth! Reiki is extremely gentle and the profound peace it brings in the overall system Body-Mind-Spirit boosts your well being to its optimum levels.

During a distant Reiki session, you will be lying comfortably in your bed or sofa, put on some relaxing Reiki music and light an incense if you like. The effect of Reiki is exactly the same if you have a live or a distant session, so you will experience calmness and relaxation, take in energy healing and empowerment wherever you need it, You might fall asleep, and wake up with a profound sense of peace and inner stillness! You will drink plenty of water that day and the following 2 days, observe your dreams and the changes in your reality!

Reiki has better deeper effects the more you have it!! My recommendation is at least 3 continuous sessions, 7 sessions and even better a circle of 21 sessions! The Best would be for you to be attuned to Reiki, learn it and open up to this amazing energy, and bring it into your daily life. I am a Reiki practitioner since 2000 (a Master Teacher since 2002) and since that time i give Reiki to myself daily. Even though i have learned and used a numerous different practices, i have never stopped giving me Reiki!

More about Reiki
As i have mentioned before, Reiki is an amazing experience for people dealing with cancer, no matter the stage of cancer they are facing, as well as for other autoimmune dis-eases, for pregnant women and those who have just given birth, for older ages facing dementia or just to improve sleep apetite and well being, children, animals, plants, to energise your food and water! In addition Reiki is a great aid for depression and emotional and mental difficulties! For all these i would like to talk a little bit more here, as well as suggest to you a few useful links where you can find research on the effects of reiki on different conditions. Research has been giving interesting results and answers for a long time now, since after the Reiki boom and through observing the many benefits it had for the people. There were also created a few special Reiki clinics, in addition to reiki being included as a treatment in many hospitals!
Reiki is a very gentle method, a soothing technique, an amazing tool when working with cancer patients. What i have come to know and understand through peresonal experience, is that the diseased organs have a voice that needs to be heard to become conscious, that the person needs to get deeply in touch with their body and make conscious the voice of their body. A deeper understanding and acceptance comes thus forward which improves the personal connection to the body and the self, improving self healing. The spiritual aspect of Reiki also brings in the inner peace element, that is needed when someone deals with eminent death. Healing sessions brought deep peace and understanding of death and of course of life! Acceptance, not passivity! Biologically, Reiki helps with the drugs' and chemotherapy's after effects, with breathing, relaxation, improved apetite and sleep and a general well being that has been depleted from the process of the disease. For some patients, being attuned to the 1st level of Reiki and implementing it to their daily routine enjoying self treatments, besides all the positive effect of the healing, also improved self understanding and the feeling of being in control again, being able to treat themselves, being conscious of their needs, to have a tool that helps them to open up and feel balance and calmness. Working with cancer patients, has been an amazing rewarding experience, valuable because i learnt so much about life!! I had to deal with loss, since i have treated mostly people during the last stages of the disease, and i have grown consciously in a deep level! I came to learn the expansive and deep multileveled healing that Reiki offers, and i value it as an amazing tool, an amazing healing, when a person suffers with cancer. A big thank you to all the people who gave me the opportunity to work with them!! A huge respect for them and the path we have walked together!

I have worked with people dealing with column problems, who even though they were taking pills to help them get out of bed without suffering from pain, they could not even diminish the pain. However, after even the first Reiki session they felt less pain, some could sit in the bed and even stand up. Of course the more serious the condition and the felt pain the more sessions were needed. Benefits were instant. Beside problems in the column, i have worked with Reiki and crystals and managed to avoid a knee surgery, diminish respiratory difficulties, work with depression and anxiety and have amazing results, as the person felt more in their body, calm with a sense of belonging in the world, could manage their emotions better, and their overall mood was improved. In these situations there was a lot of release during the sessions, crying, images and memories that used to hurt, that after they have been released and with the peace and relaxation that was brought by the overall energetic balance and nourishment, the person was feeling better every day with lasting effects.

For pregnant women a Reiki session is benefiting both the mother and the baby! Stress levels decrease, hormones are balanced, the overall system is nourished and balanced, the energy is clean and flowing through all the energy centres, promoting a deep sense of well being for the mother and the baby. Having a few Reiki sessions a few months before delivering the baby will also help the birth process. After giving birth, having Reiki sessions is excellent for the mother as she can be in balance and avoid any depressive tendencies, she is relaxed and calm, connected positively with her self, more able to manage this new period of her life, transiting with flow and balance to active motherhood.

Many years ago Reiki entered the hospital setting, through amazing volunteers who were giving Reiki sessions to both patients and nurses, with amazing results for the patients and their health improvement as well as for the nurses who were able to minimise stress levels and burnout and thus offering better quality help and care to the inpatients. "Reiki is now one of the top three complementary in-patient therapies in U.S. hospitals, according to an AHA survey." Reiki before and after surgery has excellent results as well. I have had the experience of sending Reiki (distant healing) to people before surgery and after the surgery was over, something that minimised stress levels and obviously helped in their better response to their treatment, in addition to better response to their medical treatment. This program has evolved to include a policy and annual competency for any Reiki-trained nurse and other employees to administer Reiki treatments at the bedside." A study conducted by Harvard University in 2015 and 2016 has proven that "A Single Session of Reiki Significantly Improved Pain, Anxiety, Depression, Nausea and Fatigue". Other research has proven again that "Reiki was an effective approach in relieving the pain" thus minimising anxiety improving well being and self healing.
