Kambô The Amazonian Frog Medicine
Kambô is a healing medicine used mainly in South America, and the last years in many parts of the world. Is named after the giant monkey frog Phylomedusa Bicollor. The skin secretions of the frog is gathered by the shaman and dried on a piece of wood. During this procedure the frog is not harmed.
Kambô is a profound transformational medicine! The benefits are on the physical-emotional-mental-spiritual levels!!
Kambô is used to cleanse the body of toxins and to cure "panema" that is negative energy accumulated in the system, or "bad luck". It has been largerly used to cure malaria and snake bites in the Amazon jungle. In addition the Amazonian indigenous use Kambô before they go hunting, because their body odours are neutralised, something that makes hunting easier as the animals cannot smell them.

The way the Medicine is applied is on a slight superficial burn on the skin (a burn that removes the first skin layers, no further, as the medicine must not touch the blood. Touching the blood can mean death!) and works through entering the lymphatic system. The process involves purging of the toxins. Prerequisite is an alcalic 3 day diet prior to the ceremony as well as drinking 2-3lts of water before you apply the Medicine, as the medicine is Fire and it needs Water to ease the process. However there are people who can handle a dry process, meaning that they drink no water and the Fire of the medicine works directly in the system. How Kambô Works
Kambô contains Biologically active Peptides and Neuropeptides that trigger chemical reactions within the body, producing a positive effect on the body, the emotional and mental state. It activates the self healing abilities of the body and in the long run it strenghtens dramatically the immune system. Kambô has the ability to cross the blood-brain barrier (somethin rare for a medicine), allowing the medicine to work deeply in the body and cells and to access areas that are very difficult to treat otherwise. There are 9 peptides recognised until now by scientists. Some act like hormones while others support important cellular processes.
